Dear UES Resident, Family and Friends:
Over the past week, we have heard from many of our residents, their families and friends about COVID-19 (Coronavirus). We wanted to provide this update to confirm that we are taking every precaution and following best practices as prescribed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the New York State Department of Health (DOH).
DOH has confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 at UES. UES immediately instituted stringent protocols as specified by DOH, CDC and CMS for nursing facilities with confirmed cases of COVID-19. DOH has administered COVID-19 tests to those residents and staff it determined appropriate and will continue such testing as necessary. We will contact you if your loved one is suspected or diagnosed with COVID-19.
We understand that connecting with family and friends is incredibly important to our residents. Families and friends may communicate with UES residents via Skype, Facetime and other tele-visits.
These are very challenging and unsettling times. The health, safety and well-being of our residents are our top priority. Our administration, medical professionals and staff are on the front lines, working diligently under tough circumstances to ensure that our residents are well taken care of. Your assigned social worker remains available to answer any questions or concerns.
Take care, follow CDC guidelines, and do your part to flatten the curve.
